About Attorney Garland

Sumner focuses his practice on domestic/family law assisting clients achieve results in divorce, child support, and child custody cases. Sumner also practices in the areas of wills and estate probate. Sumner takes the time to understand that his clients are often dealing with emotionally charged situations and can lend a helping hand in times of need.

Sumner graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (B.A. 2016) and the University of Tennessee College of Law (J.D. 2022). He is admitted to the Tennessee Bar (2023). While Sumner is new to the practice of law, he clerked with Wykoff and Sikes for the entirety of law school and gained valuable experience.

Sumner grew up in Elizabethton Tennessee and moved to Knoxville for college. Sumner enjoyed his time in Knoxville so much he decided to make it his home. He has an Airedale Terrier and a black cat. You can usually find Sumner on the golf course, exercising, or spending time with friends and family.
