Cort focuses his practice on trial litigation in the areas of personal injury, car accidents, motorcycle accidents, truck accidents, Social Security Disability, child custody, child support, adoption, and DUI defense. Since 2005, Cort has represented thousands of clients throughout East Tennessee and the Mid-State, and has devoted his practice to helping clients through difficult and emotional times in their lives. Cort is a Rule 31 Listed Family Mediator and works diligently with parties to resolve their disputes. With over a decade of trial experience arguing alimony, child support, custody, and property division cases, Cort can likely give you a first hand account of what to expect from the judge you will appear before at trial and help you to creatively settle your case without incurring the costs of trial.

Cort is a graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (B.S. 2002) and the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law (J.D. 2005). He is admitted to the Tennessee Bar (2005), U.S. District Court Eastern District of Tennessee, U.S. Bankruptcy Court Eastern District of Tennessee, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.

Cort is a Knoxville native and makes his home in Knoxville with his wife, children, and hound dogs. He enjoys rooting on the Vols, playing golf, running in 5K and half marathon events, and hiking the Smoky Mountains.
